IAB gathered legal experts from eleven jurisdictions around the globe to examine how jurisdiction-specific privacy laws apply to the digital advertising industry, how the nuances in each of these laws create differing obligations for participants in digital ads transactions, and how a global privacy string (being developed by the IAB Tech Lab) could help address the challenge of demonstrating compliance with various jurisdictions’ notice and consent requirements.

This webinar will specifically highlight the results of our examination of Canada’s privacy laws and, more importantly, the practical impact of these laws on digital advertising participants and the transactions they typically undertake. We will also discuss how Canada’s laws fit into a global context and the nuances in how Canada strikes its own balance between transparency into how information about consumers is processed for digital advertising and consumers’ ability to be informed and make choices about that processing. Finally, we will turn our focus to the set of technical standards being developed by the IAB Tech Lab to aid participants in digital ads transactions in communicating their compliance with differing local privacy requirements.

Please join us on July 27, 2021 at 1pm ET as we discuss the implications of Canada’s privacy laws on the digital advertising industry.

We will kick off the webinar with a fireside chat between Sonia Carreno, President of IAB Canada, and Michael Hahn, SVP & General Counsel of IAB, followed by a discussion with our panelists.
