IAB Tech Lab’s Privacy Sandbox Taskforce has completed a report on the implications of Google’s plan to eliminate third-party cookie-based tracking from its Chrome browser while replacing it with the Privacy Sandbox. The Privacy Sandbox is a series of alternative solutions to the third-party cookie that aims to protect people’s privacy.
This report identified several key issues that underscore the challenges media companies, advertisers, and the broader industry face in adapting to the changes mandated by Privacy Sandbox.
IAB Tech Lab invites industry stakeholders to participate in a 45-day period for public comments, which will remain open until March 22, 2024. To help the community prepare and participate, IAB Canada and the IAB Tech Lab are facilitating this webinar to discuss the report’s findings.
