Today, IAB Europe submitted the action plan required by the Belgian Data Protection Authority (APD)’s decision on IAB Europe and the Transparency & Consent Framework (TCF). This marks a key milestone in the two-phase remediation period foreseen in the decision and should enable a version of the TCF with a broader compliance functionality to be rolled out over a 6-month period under the supervision of the APD. IAB Europe has long aspired to submit the TCF for approval as a transnational GDPR Code of Conduct, and the action plan being submitted today is an important step in this direction.
IAB Canada continues to work with our international colleagues to support the enhanced release of the TCF and we look forward to updating our members on any feedback or progress in the coming weeks. “It has been a remarkable international effort involving the smartest minds in the online advertising industry. While there remains a lot of work to be done, this milestone is the result of unparalleled collaboration towards delivering a fortified version of the TCF framework”, said Sonia Carreno, President, IAB Canada.
Additionally, we would like to re-share IAB Europe’s latest updated FAQ document for your reference (Updated April 1, 2022). The document has been put together by the IAB Europe team to help support you in some of the general and latest questions you have or may get asked by your members.
