As the sector continues to grow, we are looking for a Manager of Privacy and Technical Solutions who shares our passion for the online advertising industry in Canada. This position will work closely with IAB Canada’s President, Manager of Policy and Government Affairs, internal and external stakeholders, and international counterparts, on advancing privacy and emerging technical solutions for our members.   

 

Reporting directly to IAB Canada’s President, the candidate in this role will play an instrumental role in leading, promoting and administrating IAB Canada’s Transparency and Consent Framework (TCF Canada). The role also offers an opportunity to expand upon – and build, technical solutions designed to comply with evolving regulations such as elections monitoring services, marketing to kids’ solutions, and others as they arise, keeping the online advertising industry informed.  

 

Responsibilities 

  • Lead, promote and administrate TCF Canada. 
  • Participate in EU working groups as well as Global Privacy Working Groups to ensure the TCF Canada framework is up to date and is being reviewed for any necessary adjustments. 
  • Participate in IAB Tech Lab working groups that are developing solutions to privacy and other emerging regulations. 
  • Monitor emerging technical challenges that must be addressed on behalf of members by communicating with international IABs, Manager of Policy and Government Relations Manager, and other sources.  
  • Prepare briefs on privacy and technical solution activity impacting the online advertising sector in collaboration with committees, councils and internal stakeholders. 
  • Work directly with President to develop solutions strategies and engage a broad group of policy stakeholders. 
  • Manage privacy and technical solution related working groups.  
  • Educate membership on privacy and technical solutions, including best practices, and implications for the industry. 

 

Qualifications 

  • Solid understanding of the online advertising eco-system – preferably an understanding of how the supply chain operates. 
  • Strong knowledge of privacy, compliance and technical solutions in Canada and internationally. 
  • Research skills and ability to keep finger on the pulse of emerging issues. 
  • Exceptional relationship-building qualities. 
  • Excellent communication skills – ability to present to a broad range of stakeholders with varying levels of expertise. 
  • Self-starting, creative problem-solver. 
  • French proficiency (as asset).
